Pre-Sales Engineer

Primary job responsibilities
•    Discover and analyze customers' business and technical needs
•    Architect, design, and present multi-product solutions to partners and customers
•    Generate strong interest and build customer trust by presenting and demonstrating our product and solutions  to prospective customers in person and online (webinars)
•    Responsible to build technical material to support sales activities (slideware, solution brief, white papers, competitive analysis, etc.), design workshops
•    Support the sales team with recommendations for development and implementation of complex products and solutions that result in the achievement of sales quotas
•    Meet revenue goals, deployment, and service objectives while sustaining good relationships with prospects and customers
•    Prepare detailed product specifications and implement customer installation plans
•    Respond to RFIs and RFPs to articulate the capabilities of AlfaVAD’s product portfolio
•    Run on-site product evaluations (i.e. Proof of Concept) from start to finish and ensure success against customer requirements and competitive threats
•    Assist with post-sale installations and ensure a successful production deployment
•    Work closely with sales management, support, and product management teams to communicate customer needs, maintain high customer satisfaction, and relay requested features and enhancements
•    Contribute as a technical resource at trade shows and conference

Desired Skills and Experience

A. Pre Sales Storage and IT Infrastructure

•    Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent combination of education and work experience 
•    3 years+ technical pre sales / sales engineer experience on the following topics:

  • Virtualization Extensive experience and knowledge (Vsphere, Hyper-V)
  • Certification as VCP (Vmware)
  • Cross platform Virtualization and Cloud technologies
  • Knowledge and experience of Storage – EMC/Netapp (NAS & SAN)
  • Servers (Hardware, Windows and Linux O/S)
  • Knowledge of Backup and advanced Networking operations

B. Pre-Sales Security Engineer

•    Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent combination of education and work experience

•    -3 years+ technical pre sales / sales engineer experience

•    Desirable certifications: CCNP or CISSP, UNIX & Microsoft certifications a plus

•    Expertise and experience in 4 of the 8 following security verticals and basic knowledge in all of the verticals

1. Networking hardware such as routers, switches, load balancers, etc.

2. Next Generation Firewalls or security gateways,

3. SSL VPNs,

4. IPS/IDS technology,

5. DLP (Data Loss Prevention),


7. Enterprise endpoint security policy management

8. PKI’s
